Prin Message:

Dear Nettle Community:

What a great week Nettle! We had so many wonderful things happening, both Inside and outside the classroom.

Our Grade 5 students had an exciting week of learning outdoors. Through engaging, cooperative activities, they explored their core values and discovered what it means to be a Historian. These experiences brought learning to life, allowing students to ask questions, work together, make connections, and explore new ideas at their own pace.

Our Grade 8 students had the opportunity to welcome Marc Gwamaka from Rwanda for an engaging and meaningful learning experience. Through collaborative activities and thoughtful discussions, students explored the history of the Rwandan Genocide and examined the complex factors that can contribute to civil unrest and conflict.

These activities encouraged students to think critically about history, reflect on the impact of conflict on individuals and communities, and consider the importance of understanding, empathy, and peacebuilding. Experiences like these bring history to life and help our students make meaningful connections between the past and the world we live in today.

It is always rewarding to see our students actively engaged in their learning, supporting one another, and discovering new ways to understand the world around them. Experiences like these remind us that some of the most meaningful learning happens when students have the opportunity to explore, collaborate, and put their knowledge into practice.

Thank you to our dedicated faculty and staff for creating these engaging learning opportunities and to our students for bringing such enthusiasm and curiosity to each day.

Although we have a short week ahead, we have a couple of important activities coming up that we are looking forward to!

October 14 - Progress Reports will be posted in School Brains; shortly after that, we will be reaching out regarding our Parent Conference evening which will take place on October 22nd.

October 13 & 14, our Knight’s Soccer teams will be playing their last season games which will determine the playoffs - hope you can all join and cheer them on!!

It is weeks like these we love to share about as they display the wonderful opportunities our students are provided to learn, connect, and engage with our school community. We look forward to sharing more of these experiences with you and making the most of our time together throughout the year.

Again, we hope you can come out and cheer on our Knights! Your support means so much to our student-athletes as they finish the regular season strong.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Wishing everyone a wonderful short week!

Ms. Salach
