Next week, the Kindness Club will be kicking off “Start with Hello!” week. As part of the Sandy Hook Promise, this is a program that teaches students to make a difference with their peers in a simple and fun way. They will take small but powerful actions to promote connectedness and inclusion.
We’ll be having a Spirit Week, starting on Monday, 9/23, which will include the following activities for all Nettle students:
Monday: Random Acts of Kindness Day (students are encouraged to complete at least 1 random act of kindness – no matter how small)
Tuesday: Wear your favorite t-shirt (something that symbolizes who you are/their unique personality)
Wednesday: Hey Day (students and staff will be given name tags to wear and encouraged to say Hello to students and teachers they may not know)
Thursday:Kindness Stations at lunch (students can write positive notes to others and we’ll be encouraging students to reach out to others to prevent any student from sitting alone); We will also be selling “Choose Kind” bracelets in the cafeteria during lunch for $1.00
Friday: Nettle Pride Day (wear Nettle gear or blue and gold colors)
Please see Mrs. McCann or Mrs. Crowley if you have any questions.
