Dear Nettle Staff, Students, and Families,

It is with deep appreciation and gratitude that we share an important transition for our school community. Ms. Doherty, the dedicated and inspiring leader at Dr. Paul Nettle Middle School, will be stepping into a new role as the next principal of A.B. Consentino Middle School. While the Nettle School community will miss her tremendously, the strong foundation she has built at Nettle will continue to support our student’s growth and success for years to come.

Under Ms. Doherty’s leadership, Nettle has flourished. She has championed high-quality instruction, supported teachers in their professional growth, and cultivated a school environment where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Her impact goes beyond academics—she has strengthened family engagement, fostered a positive school culture, and worked tirelessly to ensure that all students receive the support they need to thrive.

After careful reflection on the needs of all Haverhill schools—including the construction and opening of the new Consentino school building—we recognize that this moment calls for a leader with deep experience in school leadership and a strong understanding of Haverhill Public Schools. We are excited that Ms. Doherty has agreed to take on this new challenge, knowing that her leadership will guide Consentino through this critical transition.

While change is never easy, we are confident that the legacy Ms. Doherty leaves behind will continue to shape Nettle’s future in a positive way. Her dedication has set the stage for continued success, and we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition in leadership. The search for Nettle’s next principal will begin soon, and we are dedicated to finding a leader who will build upon the strong foundation already in place.

Though she is moving on to a new role, Ms. Doherty will continue to be an integral part of Haverhill Public Schools, and we know her leadership will continue to benefit students across the district. We thank her for her dedication, passion, and the lasting impact she has made on Nettle Middle School.
